Want to know what are the must-try street food in Vietnam? Here is my list of some amazing dishes you must not miss out if you visit Hoi An and its night market!
It’s a bustling city that turns the old town into walking area for the night. Vendors are selling their specialty dishes on every corner, but the biggest variety you’ll have on the night market. There is so much to offer that you won’t go hungry, rather it will be difficult, what to choose.
Since most stalls cook one dish or one type of food, they have fine tuned the balance of flavours and the dishes taste perfectly.
What first caught my eye, was all the seafood. Scallops, octopus, squid, shrimps – you name it, they have it. And everything was so tender.
And should you prefer meat, there are all kinds of options on the stick: chicken, beef, frogs…
Very typical Vietnamese street food: grilled rice paper 🙂 You can have the vegetarian, fish or meat option.
And all those fruits and sweets! Thai banana pancakes, rolled ice cream, crispy coconut cakes, mango cakes (they were highly praised, but I found them less than impressive)…
Go early and take your time to sample everything. It’s delicious!
