Whatever you’re looking for on your holiday or just the long weekend – Tallinn makes a perfect destination. It has a beautiful old town, great cuisine, nightlife, lot of festivals and events, ferries that take you to Helsinki with 1,5 hours and relaxing nature even less than half an hour driving form the city.

Here are five reasons why you should book your ticket today:

1. Beautiful Unesco Heritage old town

You can walk there for days and keep discovering new little streets or cute restaurant terraces hidden in court yards.

2. Baltic Sea

Being open to the sea, you can reach several beaches by foot or public transportation with driving time less than half an hour from the center.

3. Great places to eat or have a drink

There’s huge variety of restaurants and cafes offering great meals for reasonable price and bars having beer list longer than Dostojevski’s books. To name few of my favourites:
Rataskaevu 16 and Väike Rataskaevu (same place, in two different locations in old town; best service in town and delicious food; book well in advance)
Ülo (newcomer in the Rataskaevu family, the usual great food and service)
Trühvel (best tuna in town and great service)
Chakra (best indian food you can find in Tallinn)
Gelato Ladies (the best icecream in town, if not in country; service could use some improvement)
Drink Bar (huge choice of beer and great snacks; try their cheese balls!)
Põrgu (again, huge choice of beer, including 16 on tap and awarded food)
Pudel Bar (great terrace to have some beer)
Must Puudel (Beautiful little court yard terrace)
Taste of Asia (good choice of asian food)

4. Telliskivi – the new place to be

That’s where all the hipsters and other locals along with some tourists (but far less than in old town) have started to gather in the last some years. Lots of great terraces open to the setting sun, table tennis tables, cool graffiti, benches to just hang around, several designer shops.

5. And last – airport is so close that should you wish, you can reach city center by walking with 45 minutes

Or by bus with 15 minutes. Or by taxi for 3-5 euros.
