The Minimalist Traveller

About the Minimalist Traveller

I’m Gaili, an Estonian, a constant traveller, full time foodie, book lover, photography enthusiast. I seem to have the tendency to fall in love with a place and then move there for awhile.
Being a teenager, I imagined my life going to a completely different direction – by 24 I’d have husband and first kid, few years later another. Kid that is, not another husband. Well, that did not happen. But I continued to live the “safe life”: buying a condo, sharing it with the bank, working from Monday to Friday, sometimes on weekend too. Which didn’t take me anywhere but being able to pay my mortgage every month.
And then I went to Nepal. My first trip out of Europe. And I was hooked. A year later I went for a first one-month solo trip – to Cambodia and Vietnam. Never changed the course and have visited more than 40 countries by now. Lately there has been no more than two months in a year with no border crossing.
